Signature of the first Comptoir Limousin
The ceremony was attended by Ms Annick MORIZIO, President of the SPL Terres de Limousin – LIMOUSIN nouveaux horizons, Mr Gérard RUMEAU, President of the Communauté de Communes Gartempe – Saint-Pardoux, and Mr Vincent PEYRESBLANQUES, Mayor of Saint-Pardoux-le-Lac alongside local representatives and partners from the area.
Through this Tourist Information Centre (Comptoir Limousin), visitors – both tourists and locals – can now find a wealth of varied and accessible tourist information: Paper maps, but also QR codes to be flashed that link to updated digital content, such as the interactive map, hiking trails, events diary…
This lively and warm reception desk offers a new experience: the MARS team guides, advises and willingly shares their favourites, in a spirit of proximity. Thanks to its central location and extended opening hours – 9.30am to 12.30pm and 3.30pm to 7pm from Monday to Saturday – the Limousin Counter makes tourist information available whenever you need it. You can come whenever you like, at the pace of everyday life, and always with the possibility of talking to someone and getting advice on a walk, a visit or an outing. The beach flag at the entrance is an invitation to come in.
This first site marks the start of a network of Comptoirs Limousins (Tourist Information Centres), which will be rolled out to other towns in the department from July: Magnac-Laval, Châteauponsac and Saint-Sulpice-les Feuilles will follow Saint-Pardoux-le-Lac . The aim is to make tourist information visible, easy to access and an integral part of local life.
Finally, to extend the experience and prepare for their stay, everyone can also log on to the destination’s flagship website, a showcase for the region’s tourism offering: www.visitlimousin.com.
With this innovative system, rooted in the realities of rural areas, Terres de Limousin – LIMOUSIN nouveaux horizons is reinventing the codes of the tourist welcome and asserting a strong desire: to make Haute-Vienne an accessible, welcoming destination that is resolutely focused on its visitors, from here or elsewhere.
