Immerse yourself in the world of turn-of-the-century printers

Close your eyes and open them again: you’ve arrived at a printing works from the 1930s. In front of you, the antique but still gleaming “Linotype” machines of the Moulin du Got are just waiting for you to type your text. Breathe in the smell of the ink as it blends with the paper. The whole world of printing at the turn of the century is recreated and explained before your very eyes in Saint Léonard de Noblat.

Why is the Moulin du Got a must-see?

The Moulin du Got is the last remaining reminder of the important paper-making activity of Limousin in the 18th century. After it closed, an association was set up with the support of the town to ensure that this ancestral know-how could continue. Former papermakers and printers joined the association and trained volunteers and new employees. In this way, the wonderful adventure of handmade paper is being revived in Saint Léonard de Noblat, and new pages in its history are being written before your very eyes…
