Analysis of tourist activity in Haute-Vienne

Tourism situation in August 2023 and first assessment of the season in Haute-Vienne

Understanding the tourism market is of vital importance to all those involved. It enables them to anticipate trends, adjust their offerings in line with market expectations, and seize emerging opportunities. Business analysis guides strategic decisions, helping destinations to adapt to economic fluctuations, changes in tourism behavior and societal shifts. Business data guides tourism promotion, facilitates flow management, and contributes to the development of policies conducive to the sustainable development of tourism.
A reassuring but mixed season in Haute-Vienne, as in the rest of France. A popular month of August, a decent high season from July to August, but a season that suffers from comparison with 2022. Explanations….

✅ 78% positive opinions for August 2023.

✅ The business survey tells us that July and August 2023 are satisfactory for 63% of professional respondents, but that the comparison of attendance with 2022, an exceptional post-Covid year, would be down.

✅ There was a +6% increase in French and foreign overnight stays during the 2023 high season, with 2.12 million overnight stays recorded over the period. This significant increase can be attributed to the analysis of French and foreign travel using anonymized cell phone tracking (Flux Vision Tourisme system).

A fine season for certain players who shared their satisfaction with us: the new Paradis de Vassivière campsite, the Centre de la Mémoire d’Oradour-sur-Glane and its new guided tours, the Limoges Aquarium (with record figures), the Espace Hermeline and its leisure activities around the lake.
