Ecomobility with the CRT and ADEME Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Faced with the urgency of climate change, where transport is responsible for almost 77% of greenhouse gas emissions linked to tourism in France, and the changing expectations of customers, who are placing increasing importance on sustainability issues and aspire to a more respectful exploration of the regions – with a particular interest in ‘slow tourism’ – mobility has become a crucial issue. It is at the heart of discussions on future tourism models.

The Comité régional du tourisme de Nouvelle-Aquitaine and ADEME are committed to responsible tourism and sustainable mobility. As part of this commitment, a number of joint tools have been developed to support regional tourism stakeholders (particularly accommodation providers) in implementing their ecomobility approach:

Sustainable mobility for tourists: a joint tool for taking action

Given the importance of transport in tourism’s carbon footprint,ADEME and the CRT Occitanie have published a reference document entitled ” Pour des mobilités touristiques durables, parcours d’action et commun pour outiler les acteurs du tourisme(Towards sustainable tourist mobility: courses of action and resources for tourism stakeholders ).

The result of work carried out by the CRT Occitanie, this interactive PDF brings together and structures numerous resources dedicated to sustainable tourist mobility.
Designed as an operational action plan, it features clickable links giving access to freely reusable practical information sheets, tools, guides and shared resources, available from the ADEME Bookshop.
Structured around three themes – inform, connect, develop – the document provides step-by-step guidance for tourism stakeholders (tourist offices, accommodation providers, visitor sites, local authorities, etc.) in implementing more responsible mobility practices.

Designed as a free, open-ended resource, this document is intended to be shared, enhanced and adapted to local realities in order to speed up the transition to more sustainable tourism that is more firmly rooted in the local area.
