What is the tourist tax for?
Since January 1, 2018, the tourist tax has been collected in 15 of the 16 communes of the Ouest Limousin Communauté de communes: Champagnac-la-Rivière, Champsac, Cussac, Gorre, La-Chapelle-Montbrandeix, Maisonnais-sur-Tardoire, Marval, Oradour-sur-Vayres, Pensol, Saint-Auvent, Saint-Bazile, Saint-Cyr, Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre, Sainte-Marie-de-Vaux, and Saint-Mathieu. (For the commune of Cognac-la-Forêt, contact the town hall).
The tourist tax is collected only between May 1 and September 30. Each year, at the end of the season, tourist accommodation providers pay the tax collected to the Public Treasury, together with the renter’s register, via the tourist office – Oradour Vayres reception.
Paid by tourists staying in Ouest Limousin, this tax is used to develop tourism in the Communauté de communes. The amount collected is reinvested in tourism projects, to develop the offer on the Ouest Limousin territory.
