The medieval imprint in the heart of Périgord-Limousin

The Richard the Lion-Hearted Route is a historic tour of castles, medieval churches, abbeys and the Limousin countryside. The emblematic image used to identify this route is that of King Richard, an obvious choice! Master of our territory in the 12th century, he fought against many of his vassals before dying at the foot of Châlus Chabrol castle. On the circuit, you’ll see signs 😉. In and around Ouest Limousin, this itinerary winds between the Massif des Feuillardiers in the north and the Pays Arédien in the south of Haute-Vienne, and leads you to encounter stories told by our stones 🏰 the time of your walks.
