In the village of Saint Bazile, the August 15th weekend is all about crafts and nature! Every year, on Sunday, a large-scale craft festival lets you discover or recall the skills of old trades: leather, wood and metal work, flail threshing, and more.
You’ll be able to savor bread fresh from the communal oven, prepared the old-fashioned way 😋, and share a country-style meal in the shady park before enjoying the entertainment.

As for nature, organized hikes will let you appreciate the privileged environment in the heart of Périgord-Limousin. Whether on foot, horseback or mountain bike, there’s a morning ride for everyone in a friendly atmosphere. 🍃

2. The Fair of the Throne in Limousin

in Oradour sur Vayres

The “Foire du trône en Limousin”, as it’s known, has been the biggest funfair in Limousin for over 50 years, and one of the few still held in the heart of the village. For 4 days, it’s a veritable transformation of the place, with the streets lit up by a wide variety of rides, it’s guaranteed fun: thrills, rides of all kinds for young and old, delicacies… 🎡
Every day from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., the party is in full swing, and it’s in a crazy atmosphere that you’ll let yourself be carried away (between 2 breaks of pomme d’amour, barbapapa or churros😋).

Entertainment is also part of the program, and the reputation of the grand pyromusical show that closes the festival on Monday evening is well established. It’s THE unmissable popular festival in Haute-Vienne! ✨

3. Festival "à la rentrée c'est class

in Oradour sur Vayres

This festival of circus, music and theater for all takes place every year, just after the start of the school year (1st or 2nd weekend in September). This eagerly awaited event in Ouest Limousin takes place in the town hall park in Oradour sur Vayres, from Friday to Sunday.

Two big tops and outdoor entertainment welcome you for a program of lively shows: circus cabaret, dance, fairground games, clowning, concert aperitif… Humor and poetry are never far away 😉. “La rentrée c’est class” is THE festival not to be missed for moments of emotion, surprise and joy for young and old.

4. Nostalgia of yesteryear

in Champagnac-la-Rivière

It’s a date not to be missed by enthusiasts of vintage vehicles, the 50s, and all those who love a good time. At the end of September, every two years, the Rétro Machine Bandiat Tardoire association invites you to enjoy a unique experience with the locals: become an actor in the heart of the 50s, and take part in the “Nostalgie d’antan” parade on foot, in vintage vehicles, and in costume!🤩

During this event, enjoy a vintage market, exhibitions of antique crafts, artisans, “foire à tout”, and more. In short, vintage class! With self-guided or guided tours of the village, take pleasure in projecting yourself back in time in a Limousin village transformed for the occasion. Retro atmosphere guaranteed!😉
