Let’s start with a must: a cool stroll along the banks of the Vienne, to admire the various bridges and landscapes on offer! You’ll love it!
Next, take a bike ride to discover the city’s historic district, the Boucherie, and wander through the streets of the city center before stopping off at the Jardin de l’Evêché for a little break while admiring Saint Etienne’s cathedral 👀
Little tip 💡:
You can stop for lunch at Pont Saint-Etienne for a breathtaking view of the bridge of the same name; enough to treat yourself before getting back on your bike, and what’s more, it’s on the banks of the Vienne River 😉
A new day, a new discovery!
Head for Limoges station early in the morning to head for Aixe-sur-Vienne!
You’ll find a QR code available at the station, giving you access to a possible walk around the town: an ideal way to discover the town, its stores and its heritage.
Then board the train again, bound for Saint-Victurnien! Let yourself be surprised by a town that has kept its soul and bears witness to the past.
You can spend the night here and continue your journey the next day 🤗
Little tip 💡:
During this day, enjoy a break at the “les 2 ponts” restaurant in Aixe-sur-Vienne located right next to the train station: you’re sure to enjoy yourself!
Ready for the penultimate day of train rides?
We’re off to Saint-Junien, a town full of character and boasting some incredible architecture, as evidenced by the collegiate church!
Take a walk around the station and discover the banks of the Vienne, a calm and soothing spot in the city!
Little tip 💡 :
Saint-Junien is also renowned for its glove-making, which was in fact showcased by Rihanna during the Superbowl wearing gloves made by Ganterie Agnelle – classy isn’t it? 😎
You can even visit the glove factory here.
We leave the town of Saint-Junien for one of France’s Most Beautiful Detours: Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat!
You’ll be amazed by the charm of this town, where half-timbered houses, narrow streets and the collegiate church take center stage!
Little tip 💡:
Go and feast on marzipan, the town’s specialty!
📍 Our best address?
Go to Boulangerie Patisserie Martin in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat.
We’re continuing this final day’s journey from Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat station to Eymoutiers, classified as a Petite Cité de Caractère!
And you won’t be disappointed when you arrive, trust us 😉
Eymoutiers? it’s a little paradise on earth, with charm and detail around every corner!
At the station? Set off on a 3.5 km hike to discover the town’s rich heritage!
From the collegiate church and pretty alleyways to the master tanner’s house and the Pré Lanaud park for a well-deserved break, you’ll be amazed by the warm atmosphere you’ll find there.
Little tip 💡:
Go and feast on the delicious pelauds at the Chou Beurre Pomme bakery; and if you’re not a gourmand, you’re about to become one 🤭
