Our 5 magical places to see the stars

“I wanted to see the stars… I wanted to see the stars, to see them as well as I did when I was a child. So I set off far from the cities. In search of a real night, a very dark night, because only pure darkness allows us to see far. Our madness with lights blinds us. Eventually, I found the right observatory, a plateau. I soon understood why it was called “des Mille Vaches”… Because, better than anywhere else, you can see the Milky Way.” Erik Orsenna, Académie française
