Mémoire des combattants de la Haute-Vienne
Museum of the ResistanceThe Limousin is known as a land of strong and active Resistance during the Second World War.
The Musée de la Résistance et de l’Occupation (Museum of Resistance and Occupation), located in the heart of the town, boasts a wealth of objects (including a plane!) and documents dating from the 1939-1945 period. Dedicated to the men and women who sacrificed their lives to defend the values of the Republic, it is an essential place of remembrance.
For a family visit, we recommend a minimum age of 8, due to the difficult subject matter.
With the free “Résistance en Poche” app, 8-13 year-olds (and their parents😉 ) will be helped by virtual friends from the era to understand the events from 1933 to the end of the War, and win medals! 🎖️
