3. Vassivière, naturally!
One of France's most beautiful lakesVassivière, one of France’s largest lakes and the 6th largest body of water in the Massif Central, is a must-see in Haute-Vienne. Located on the borders of the Creuse department, in the heart of the Monts et Barrages region, this 10 km² lake is packed with natural areas, 15 of which are classified as ZNIEFF (Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Ecologique, Faunistique et Floristique).
The shores of the Vassivière lake are typical of the traditional landscape of the Millevaches plateau: peat bogs, peat ponds, moors and forests. There are many things to see and do on site that will give your friends and family the chance to get to know the site: the snake island, the contemporary art center, the trails in the heart of the Limousin mountains, etc. The best way to discover the lake and its history is by boat! There are two options to choose from: “Escale IV” and “ Adi-Mille Tour” 😉
4. La Madeleine, a landmark!

The medieval town, the Tour du Plô, the old kaolin mine, the origins of Limoges porcelain… There’s no doubt that your gourmet getaway to St-Yrieix-la-Perche will leave your loved ones with precious memories! Make Haute-Vienne their Proust’s madeleine 😉
