Légend’Air: Free air show featuring legendary aircraft

Every September, the skies above Haute-Vienne come alive for Légend’Air, the major free air show held at the Maryse Bastié Aerodrome in Saint-Junien. Join us on 12 and 13 September 2026 for a journey through time set to the roar of legendary engines! With legendary aircraft, aerobatic displays, vintage vehicles and themed activities, enjoy a weekend of vintage charm and popular entertainment with family or friends!

The Legend’Air spirit

A popular, passionate event that’s 100 per cent free

Founded in 2004 by a handful of vintage aviation enthusiasts, Légend’Air has become an unmissable event in the Limousin. Its secret? A generous formula that guarantees 100 per cent free entry for all visitors! Here, there are no barriers between the curious and history: you can wander right up close to the static display, chat with the pilots and marvel at the aerial display. For two days, all eyes are fixed on the sky to admire aerobatic displays, spectacular fly-pasts and the jewels of civil and military aviation: the Caudron C 109, the Cessna OV-10 Bronco, the Max Holste Broussard, the Stampe SV-4 and the Boeing Stearman.

   DID YOU KNOW?

Saint-Junien Aerodrome is named after Maryse Bastié, the legendary French aviator. In 1929, flying a Caudron C 109 (a plane you’ll see at the air show), she set the women’s world record for the longest flight by staying aloft alone for 26 hours and 44 minutes!

A retro road trip

featuring vintage vehicles and a comic-book theme

Légend’Air isn’t just about having your head in the clouds! On the aerodrome’s ‘Prairie’, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the 1940s to the 1970s thanks to parades of classic cars, vintage motorbikes and military vehicles organised in collaboration with the A.M.A., complemented by a re-enactment of an authentic American camp and an RAF encampment. Inside the Hangar des Aviateurs, culture takes centre stage: each edition showcases a unique theme. For this edition dedicated to the 9th art, enjoy creative workshops, meet-and-greets and book signings with authors of aviation-themed comic books, as well as an exhibition dedicated to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry!

Open-air café atmosphere
and highlights of the weekend

Keep the fun going to the rhythm of the brass section! The event comes alive to the sound of a jazz band and a cosy open-air café, the perfect spot to sip a cold drink and enjoy the on-site food and drink.
