Buis Blues Festivalthe summer music event in Limousin

Buis Blues Festival

Every August, the village of Le Buis and the towns of the Monts du Limousin come alive to the spellbinding rhythm of the blues. From 20 to 22 August 2026, the Haute-Vienne’s flagship event, the Buis Blues Festival, brings together passionate volunteers, international artists and festival-goers from all walks of life in a warm and authentic atmosphere. With open-air concerts, musical discoveries and moments of togetherness, immerse yourself in a festive experience to enjoy with family or friends.

A festival on a human scale

Founded in Le Buis, a small village in the north of the Haute-Vienne, the festival has established itself over the years as an unmissable summer blues event in the Limousin region. The heart of the festivities beats mainly in the village of Le Buis, whilst retaining a touch of openness to the wider region with a dedicated event for younger audiences near Nantiat.

Set in the village square, close to the church and the village’s iconic landmarks, the festival emphasises a sense of community. Its intimate scale encourages spontaneous encounters between artists, volunteers and audience members in a friendly atmosphere.

   DID YOU KNOW?

The Buis Blues Festival began with a photo exhibition put together by local residents and projected directly onto the wall of the village church. It was this spirit of local community that gave rise to the organising association and this event.

A varied line-up

The Buis Blues Festival stands out for its intriguing and varied line-up. The programme showcases the different facets of the blues, from traditional sounds to more contemporary styles (blues-rock, soul, folk).
Each year’s festival brings together established artists and up-and-coming talent from all corners of the globe (the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, Norway and Germany). It’s an opportunity to make wonderful musical discoveries and enjoy captivating live performances, whether you’re a seasoned music lover or simply curious.

Events, exhibitions and jam sessions at La Grange

The festival experience isn’t limited to the concerts on the main stage alone. An iconic venue at the Buis site, La Grange serves as an artistic hub and a meeting place. Visitors can discover exhibitions of paintings and handcrafted instruments, such as cigar-box guitars.

It is also the perfect venue for spontaneous jam sessions where amateurs and professionals come together to ‘play a bit’. Local food stalls and a refreshment bar allow you to extend the evening in a relaxed, country-style atmosphere.
