GOOD TO KNOW
Every year in October, the “frairie des petits ventres” takes place in this traditional butchers’ district. A must for food lovers.
1. The butcher's quarter
First stopDiscover this historic district with its typical Limoges half-timbered architecture. The traditional Maison de la Boucherie at number 36 tells the story of the butcher families who lived in these houses. Time permitting, we recommend a guided tour from the tourist office. As you walk up the butcher’s quarter before reaching the Place de la Motte, we recommend you pass through the Place de la Barreyrette. On this charming little square, you’ll find photos of the Frairie des petits ventres.
2. Place de la Motte
Second stopOnce you’ve made your way up the butchery district, we suggest you stop off at Place de la Motte and discover the magnificent Halles centrales, which have recently been renovated. If you’re passing through in the morning, we recommend you go inside and soak up the atmosphere.
