Day 1

A yurt and donkeys

Spend a family weekend in the Millevaches nature park in Limousin!

Before heading off to your unusual farm accommodation, head for Lake Vassivière: a change of scenery guaranteed!

👉 The Vassiviera play area lets you discover the lake in a very special way… Take part in an immersive escape game, visit the dam and hydroelectric power station or follow the trail of legends on a treasure hunt! And don’t forget to enjoy a delicious meal on the terrace of the Vassiviera restaurant.

🫏At the end of the afternoon, join the “Les ânes de Vassivière” educational farm to discover your cosy nest: a yurt! Accommodating up to 4 people (+1 cot), the yurts offer every comfort and, above all, a breathtaking view of nature and our long-eared companions! Themed walks are also offered in the company of donkeys.

Settle quietly into your yurt, meet the donkeys and explore the farm, then finish in style with a tasty local gourmet basket to enjoy on the yurt terrace before watching the millions of stars overhead. 🌟

Day 2

The city of insects

After a leisurely start to the morning, it’s off to the City of Insects!

At this must-see site in Limousin, discover the fascinating world of insects in a fun and interactive way!

Young and old alike will enjoy an experience full of surprises as they discover the permanent and temporary exhibitions. The Cabinet of Curiosities, the Naturalist’s Office with over 15,000 specimens, the Giant Cricket, the interactive biodiversity room, the exhibition on social insects with a living anthill, the “Insects, Cultures & Traditions” exhibition, the vivarium with its breeding of exotic species, as well as 8,000m2 of cultivated and natural gardens to discover the flora and fauna of the Haute-Vienne.

The Insect City offers a snack bar, store, workshops and events for families.

Day 3

Lake Vassivière

Just a 12-minute drive from the farm, Lake Vassivière is revealed… A change of scenery is guaranteed in these surroundings, nicknamed “Little Canada Limousin”. With its 1,000 hectares of water and 45 km of shoreline, the lake offers a variety of landscapes and a bubble of escape. Lac de Vassivière will be your playground for the weekend! It invites you to experience adventures on the water just like in the great outdoors!

🏅 For the sporty and the indefatigable: Climb trees on a tree-climbing adventure, or take to the water in a kayak or paddle!

If you prefer to stay on land, Trotz Ride’s all-terrain electric scooters are a fun alternative for discovering Lake Vassivière! Accessible from the age of 12 upwards, the scooters are ideal for outings combining speed and thrills, as well as leisurely rides without too much effort.

👀 For the curious: head for the island of Vassivière!

Cross the bridge to reach the island and explore all its nooks and crannies: the Bois de Sculptures and its land-art works alongside century-old trees, the skate-park which is a work of art, the Eiffel unicorn to observe from the lighthouse tower, the Jardin des simples, an organic vegetable and medicinal garden, as well as Terra-Aventura geocaching and orienteering courses.
