Can you picture yourself there already? 🤔

Don’t wait any longer – find out what’s next on the programme!

Day 1

A break in Limoges

For the first leg of your trip, we invite you to visit the porcelain capital: Limoges!

We’ll start with a gourmet break, and there are two options to choose from:

  • Restaurant un Jardin en ville: discover home-cooked food in a natural setting right in the city centre, 600 metres from the station.
  • Brasserie Bouchon Limousin : situated 200 metres from the station, you’ll be immersed in the local atmosphere and cuisine.

With your stomach nicely full, we’ll take you on a walking tour of Limoges to help you digest: set off to explore the Évêché district and make your way down to the banks of the Vienne. You’ll be able to admire the Vienne and the half-timbered architecture typical of Limoges. Head back to the heart of the city centre to reach the Halles Centrales via Rue Jean-Jaurès.

For an afternoon treat, we invite you to try the local speciality: the madeleine! Head to the Bijou de Limoges madeleine shop at 17 Avenue de Locarno or the Bébé madeleine shop at 3 Rue Vigne de Fer.

We then invite you to collect your luggage and head to the PureS’capade cabin in Royères. There are trains from Limoges that will take you to Brignac station (200 metres from your accommodation).

We suggest you spend the evening at the PureS’capade cabin enjoying a dinner cooked on a plancha or over a brazier, lovingly prepared by your host. You can find details of the services on offer right 👉🏻 here. You should expect to pay between €70 and €90 for two people.

Day 2

Fishing and relaxation in Royères

In the morning, we invite you to set off on a fishing taster session. The accommodation provides you with fishing equipment (fishing rods and lines) to make your stay easier. 🎣 You can find the various fishing spots near the accommodation right 👉🏻 here.

Don’t forget to bring your fishing licence so you can take part in this activity.

For non-anglers, why not make the most of the wellness area at the PureS’capade cabin, which features a spa and sauna, or treat yourself to a massage! 💆

For lunch, you can enjoy a picnic by the banks of the Vienne or use the accommodation’s kitchen facilities. You’ll need to do some shopping beforehand, as there are very few shops nearby.

Breakfast is included in your booking. ☕️

In the afternoon, why not set off on a geocaching adventure called ‘Laissez voguer les petits papiers’ with Tèrra Aventura! It’s a 2 km treasure hunt along the banks of the Vienne to the Moulin du Got. 💦

If you’d like, you can book bikes with your host and set off on a cycle ride along the Brignac trail to the Moulin du Got (around 1 hour).

We then invite you to explore the Moulin du Got, which was built in the 15th century and is now a multi-purpose venue combining paper-making, printing, guided tours, exhibitions and artist residencies.

In the evening, you can make the most of the fire pit or the plancha for dinner and continue the evening by trying your hand at night-time carp fishing.

Day 3

Back to Limoges

with a stop-off at Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat

It’s already time to leave your PureS’capade cabin and head back home.

From Brignac station, you can travel to Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat for one last stroll before heading back to Limoges. There’s one train in the morning on Sundays. Don’t forget to check the timetables on sncf-connect.

There, you’ll discover its collegiate church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as its sweet speciality: the Massepin! 🤤

Alternatively, we suggest heading back to Limoges and making the most of the town by going for brunch. We recommend the “Déjeunette” brunch, located in the lower part of the town centre near the station.

If you’ve got a bit of time to spare before your connecting train at Limoges station, we’d recommend stocking up on Bijou madeleines, as the shop is just a stone’s throw from the station! 😉

We hope you have a lovely stay and that you’ll come back to see us soon at Limousin. 🍃

We love it!

What we love about this break is taking our time. 🧘‍♀️

Without a car, this sort of break isn’t exactly an active one either. All the activities are close to your accommodation or, in the case of Limoges, the station.

Over the weekend, we invite you to enjoy the natural surroundings, discover localcrafts and sample regional specialities. 🍃

If you’re not familiar with the ‘ Limousin ’, we invite you to give this nature-centred getaway a go !
