Also known as "marcareux" or "biojou", Saint-Léonard prunes have been part of Miaulétou gastronomy for almost 150 years (see Le Jardin du museum published in 1875).
Harvested at the end of summer, this local variety of small plum graced the pies, jams and brandies of previous generations. However, it was in the form of confectionery that they became famous: soaked several times in sugar baths, the plums were transformed into candied prunes to delight the taste buds of young and old alike!
