Haute-Vienne is well known to trail runners, and is the venue for the famous Gendarmes et Voleurs de Temps race every year. The terrain and topography lend themselves perfectly to this discipline. Some twenty circuits are accessible in the Monts d’Ambazac and in the west of the department.
