At the Châlus and Oradour sur Vayres stations, you can rent men’s and women’s bicycles (mountain bikes, mountain bikes), electric bicycles and mountain bikes, children’s bicycles and mountain bikes, recumbent tricycles, quattrocycles, quad bikes and all-terrain wheelchairs, rollerblades (with protective covers), helmets, child seats and carioles all year round.
1. The Voie Verte des Hauts de Tardoire
ChâlusBuilt on a former railroad line, the 13 km greenway runs through unspoilt countryside between Châlus and Oradour sur Vayres. Inline skaters, people with reduced mobility, hikers and cyclists can all enjoy a pleasant, safe walk where motorized vehicles are prohibited.
The Voie Verte des Hauts de Tardoire is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord Limousin, and is an invitation to discover the region’s cultural, natural and historical heritage.
2. The Sagnat pond tree trail
Bessines-sur-GartempeAn instructive walk of just over 3km around the Sagnat pond, for pedestrians and cyclists only. Using information panels, you’ll discover 20 varieties of the most common trees in Limousin (alder, birch, bourdaine, hornbeam, chestnut…).
The étang de Sagnat is classified as a Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Écologique Faunistique et Floristique (ZNIEFF) and offers an enchanting setting for a family bike ride. Its 24 hectares offer a multitude of landscapes and activities: walking or cycling, swimming, fishing, playgrounds and picnic areas… A great way to spend a day outdoors!

3. The plane tree path
ChéronnacA family bike ride to discover some remarkable trees… the plane trees of Peyrassoulat! Leaving from Chéronnac, the trail takes you along the Tardoire, past plane and yew trees several hundred years old… An easy 9 km circuit, suitable for mountain bikes.
4. The Periwinkle Trail
Montrol-SénardLocated in the Monts de Blond massif, the Pervenches trail takes you to the village of Mortemart, listed as one of France’s most beautiful villages. This short 4.7 km trail takes barely an hour to complete. Along the way, you’ll discover small heritage buildings, hamlets and old villages…

The Monts du Limousin mountain-biking area offers 19 family or sports trails, for a total of 405 km!
2 chalets with sanitary facilities are available at Jonas (Ambazac) and Les Bordes (Jabreilles les Bordes).
5. The dolmen trail
AmbazacCircuit n°4 of the Monts du Limousin FFC mountain bike base is an itinerary with no particular difficulty, starting from the Domaine du Muret in Ambazac. This family-friendly route takes you to the dolmen de la Lieue, an ancient burial site located on a once-frequented ridge route. Containing flints and bones, it was one of the richest in Haute-Vienne. This amusing trail features a stream crossing and an unusual discovery amidst the fragrant essences of the Limousin forest.
