Permatrek: A Meeting on the Farm
What is Permatrek?
Permatrek connects farms and sites committed to permaculture and agroecology via walking and cycling routes through the Haute-Vienne and Corrèze regions. At each stop, you’ll be welcomed by passionate hosts: farmers, craftspeople and those leading sustainable projects.
You’llsleep, eat and live with local people. Farm stays, unique accommodation, and rooms at local producers’ homes: you’re not just visiting the countryside, you’re truly living there, whether for a single night or a full stay.
You’ll eat what grows right nearby. Meals are prepared using produce from the vegetable patch and neighbouring farms. The flavours of the Limousin region, straight onto your plate, with no middlemen.
You go at your own pace. Walking or cycling – only sustainable travel. The aim isn’t to rack up the kilometres, but to really see, feel and understand the places you pass through.
You’ll meet the people who bring the countryside to life. Behind every stop, there’s a story: a career change, a tradition passed down, a different way of working the land. Your hosts share their everyday lives, not just a tourist spiel.
DID YOU KNOW?
We support a local, socially responsible economy. Permatrek is run by an association founded in 2024, which now brings together around fifteen farms in the Limousin region, all united by a common goal: to offer meaningful rural tourism for both travellers and producers.
