departing from Saint-Pardoux-le-Lac

It’s a 24km walk along the path that circles the lake at Saint-Pardoux: from moorland to Limousin forest, via little sunken paths that are sometimes bright and sometimes shady, enjoy the many viewpoints along the way. A change of scenery guaranteed in a setting that looks like a little Canada!

Allow around 6 hours for a leisurely ride with your horse.

2. The path of the Royal Osmund

from Chateauponsac

Set off on a 27.5km adventure on horseback around Châteauponsac, an equestrian immersion in the heart of the Semme and Gartempe valleys.

Technically and physically challenging (Difficult level, 8 hrs), this looping route offers 16 remarkable points of interest: from the picturesque market town to panoramic views, via the listed church of Saint-Thyrse, an ethnographic museum and authentic old Limousin villages.

3. The quarry trail

from Nexon

Between ponds and moorland, this route will take you on a tour of all Nexon has to offer: the Sirque, the Château, its park, chapel and waterfall, the stud farm, the surrounding forest and the many ponds, including the Lande pond. You can also explore the quarries and small villages of Saint-Hilaire and Le Puy along the way. Follow the orange markings and set off (lasso?) into peaceful countryside to find yourself in communion with your animal. The ride lasts between 1? and 4 hours, depending on the rider’s pace.
