A day on horseback in the heart of nature

Ribières Equestrian Farm

In Saint-Genest-sur-Roselle, Claire Duron offers you the chance to try horseback riding in the Limousin countryside.

With a region that combines farm pastures and shady undergrowth, discover exceptional landscapes while riding your own horses.

Don’t panic, the difficulty and length of the rides will be adapted to your level of horsemanship, and you’ll be supervised by an equestrian tourism guide. Along the way, you’ll come across some beautiful homes and ancient castles. Depending on your ride, you’ll have the chance to see the châteaux of Vicq sur Breuilh and Souffas, the tower of Château Chervix, the puy de bar, the Fayat forest and the Grande Briance valley.

Are you comfortable with all 3 paces? You’ll be able to gallop along the banks of the Briance!

Horseback riding on an educational farm

Terr'Happy Farm

Discover Rochechouart’s rich heritage over the course of a day. Start the morning by walking the trails around Rochechouart with the horses from the Terr’Happy educational farm, raised in a tranquil, unspoilt setting. If you’re more comfortable, you can explore the surrounding area on your own. You can also discover the farm’s animals and natural vegetable garden.

Recharge your batteries at lunchtime by the Boischenu pond, on the banks of the River Graine or in the courtyard of the Château de Rochechouart. You can also take the opportunity to visit the contemporary art museum with its exhibitions inside the château.

Horseback riding in the Monts du Limousin

Aiguemarde Equestrian Center

In the hills above St Léger la Montagne, you’ll find the Ferme des Highlands, where you can take part in one of their full-day horseback rides.

A day of discovery and encounters is guaranteed, not only with the owners but also with the horses that will be your future companions. Nathalie and Patrick, the owners of this haven of peace, will guide you according to your level and accompany you throughout the ride. In groups of no more than 8 people, you’ll explore forest trails, cross rivers and discover the villages of the Monts d’Ambazac.

To refresh you, Nathalie and Patrick will prepare a farm picnic with produce straight from Ferme des Highlands, at the tip of the locality. The perfect opportunity to recharge your batteries!
