    The gesture and the material

    In Thomas’s workshop in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, each leather is carefully selected from the productions of Tannerie Bastin, renowned for its vegetable tanning and its artisanal imprint. 🍃

    Engraving on leather requires a precise gesture: working the surface, incising or embossing, playing with the relief and grain of the leather so that the motif blends into the material without distorting it. ⚒️

    This work combines technical mastery of the tool with sensitivity to the grain and the reaction of the leather to contact.

    Modern processes speak of laser or mechanical marking, but in this workshop, it is above all the craftsman’s exacting standards that make the difference: a unique, handmade motif, so that each piece becomes singular. ✨

    Thomas offers tours of his studio by appointment 📆.

    His workshop is open every day from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm.

    Local craftsmanship

    In his workshop, Thomas makes it a point of honour to work with local heritage players and to promote the skills of our beautiful département.

    In particular, he works with Tannerie Bastin, renowned for its extra-slow vegetable tanning and awarded the “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” label.

    Similarly, it is part of a local ecosystem woven with Porcelaines Carpenet, an artisanal manufacturer established in 1964 in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat and also awarded the EPV label for its Limoges porcelain.

    And with Moulin du Got, the last remaining paper mill in the region, which has been perpetuating ancient manufacturing and printing techniques since the 15th century.

    Thanks to these partnerships, each piece engraved by Thomas Fleuret is part of a small series or a unique piece, based on authenticity and quality: the leather is selected locally, the engraving is personalised, and the finish is local.
