La Vallée de la Gartempe

The Gartempe Valley offers a diversity of landscapes, from steep-sided valleys to moors and forests. As the Gartempe flows through the Haut Limousin region from Val d'Oire sur Gartempe to Châteauponsac, a number of hiking trails have been set up to explore the area. What's more, a number of prestigious towns have sprung up along the banks of the tumultuous Gartempe, or have been built on a rocky spur.
