A historic clay extraction site, the Lande à Serpentine de la Rousseille is now a protected natural environment, included on the CEN - Limousin list of remarkable natural sites. The former quarries have gradually given way to an exceptional natural environment with a wealth of flora and fauna. Situated on a serpentine outcrop, the site is home to a number of specific environments: "barked" lawns, boulders, mesophilic moorland and wet woodland. Here you'll find black celandine, four-cornered heather, dwarf gorse, delicate buttercup, whorled carum, common juniper? In spring, come and watch the blooms of Orchis bouffon and Scille printanière! The Association des Amis des Tuileries promotes this environment with tours and workshops. The Lande à Serpentine de la Rousseille is also open to the public.
