A quick overview

Chemin des Kaoliniers

Jonchère-Saint-Maurice

Follow this 9.3-km loop, a 2.5-hour escapade that will take you to emblematic sites and unmissable panoramas 👀.

Along the way, don’t miss these must-sees: the slag heaps and former kaolin quarries, witnesses to past industrial activity, the Pierre Branlante and its breathtaking panorama and finally the Arboretum Domanial with its remarkable trees 🌳

Finish in style with a visit to the extreme mountain biking site, the Mountain Bike Park, and the paragliding base, before marvelling at the Dauges peat bog national nature reserve 🌸.

Psst…This loop also offers a shorter variant of 1 hour ans 30 minutes over 5.6 km 🥾.

Circuit du Château de Lavauguyon

Maisonnais-sur-Tardoire

Discover this 10.6 km loop, a 2 hours and 45 minutes hike that will immerse you in the 💚 of a rich and fascinating history.

The Château de Lavauguyon circuit invites you to explore the historical heritage of this commune, nestled in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park 🌿.

Along the way, you’ll find a number of must-see spots: admire the ruins of Lavauguyon castle, a poignant testimony to a tumultuous past. Observe the mill’s well and let yourself be seduced by the tranquility of the Tardoire valley 💦.

Don’t miss the devotional fountain, the Tardoire bridge and the charming village of Texièras, once renowned for its weavers 🪡.

In the footsteps of Henry IV

Montrol-Sénard

Dive into the 💚 of the Monts de Blond massif with this 12.5 km hike in Montrol-Sénard, a 3 hours and 15 minutes circuit that transports you back in time!

This trail is a journey through time and nature, following in the footsteps of Henry IV. You’ll discover the hidden treasures of Montrol-Sénard and the surrounding area.

Along the way, you’ll marvel at the many views over the surrounding countryside 🍃.

You’ll pass through typical landscapes and discover small-scale rural heritage: wells, wayside crosses, dry-stone walls and wash-houses.

The village of Montrol-Sénard is a must-see, with its “Nostalgie Rurale” (rural nostalgia) trail that will take you back in time.

A 1.5 hr, 6.5 km variant is also available 🥾

Chemin de Sussac to Mont Gargan

Sussac

Set off on a 19 km hike, a 4 hours and 45 minutes loop at the 💚 of the Regional Natural Millevaches Parc in Limousin.

On the way, don’t miss Mont Gargan, this listed site rises to 731 m and was a major site of the French Resistance. Explore its discovery trail, admire the avenue of beech trees and enjoy the spectacular panorama 👀.

The site is also renowned for its unique floristic and faunistic interest, as well as the Buisson Blanc fountain 🌸.

The town of Sussac awaits you with its charming village and historic church, witnesses to the rich local heritage. Pass through bucolic landscapes dotted with ponds, streams and ancient mills.

End your hike with a relaxing break at the Sussac lake, where you can take a dip 💦.

Megaliths tour

Cieux

Discover the megalith circuit, a 13 km loop through the Monts de Blond 🌿.

Along this 3 hours and 15 minutes excursion, you’ll marvel at the many stones of legend that dot the land: stones in the shape of mushrooms, fish, the Roche aux Fées shelter and the mysterious Pierre à Sacrifices 👀.

Walk in the footsteps of our ancestors who bequeathed us menhirs and dolmens, among which stands proudly the Ceinturat menhir, listed as a Historic Monument, it’s the highest in the Haute-Vienne!

Admire the Bois du Rat chapel, a place steeped in history, and relax near the Brudoux and Fromental ponds 💦.

Finally, take a walk through the majestic Cieux forest and follow the pretty sunken paths lined with low walls 🌳.

Montbrun trail

Dournazac

Discover the sentier de Montbrun, a 16 km hike in the Parc naturel régional Périgord-Limousin 🍃.

This emblematic trail takes you up to Grand Puyconnieux, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Monts de Châlus and Monts de Blond, a site of exceptional wealth of flora and fauna 🌸.

Admire the majestic Château de Montbrun, built in the XVᵉ century, one of the jewels of the Richard the Lionheart Route 🏰.

During this 4-hour walk, you’ll pass through numerous hamlets and ancient villages of the Limousin 👀.

Circuit de l'Étang de Murat

Lussac-les-Églises

Take a leisurely stroll through the 💚 of the bocage Limousin with this 14 km loop, a 3 hours and 30 minutes 🥾 excursion.

This circuit invites you to stroll to the birdwatching site, where nature reveals all its splendor 🤩.

Don’t miss a stop here, as the Etang de Murat is a Natura 2000 listed site, where you can observe exceptional biodiversity 👀.

Discover the history of lepers and beggars in Lussac, a poignant testimony to the region’s past.

Admire the Château de la Vozelle from afar – beware, this property is privately owned 🏰.

Hawthorn trail

Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre

Discover the sentier des Aubépines, located in the 💚 of the Périgord-Limousin regional natural park. A 9 km hike lasting 2 hours and 15 minutes, it takes you along the Gorre, between water and greenery 🍃.

The circuit reveals the charm of the château de Feuillade, as well as the lock and the remains of its mill 🏰.

Along the way, you’ll appreciate the listed church in the village of Saint-Laurent. Featuring an elegant Gothic bell tower topped with chestnut, a portal, modillions, a sundial, a “stone of the dead” and a Romanesque baptismal font, the church is also home to 4 polychrome wooden statues dating from the 17th century 👀.

A 3 hours, 11km variant is also available taking you to the village of Niolet 🥾.
